# Using Ember

## Applets

Open **Library** inside Ember to browse the Ember catalog. Choosing Install downloads a package to Ember-owned staging, compares it with the registry SHA-256 digest, and shows its requested capabilities. An applet is installed only after you approve that review.

Installed applets remain on your device. When a catalog release has a newer version, Library offers Update and repeats the same review.

## Safety

Only approve capabilities you expect. Ember verifies every package signature and prevents an existing applet from changing publisher keys through an update.

## Offline use

The app continues to run already installed applets without a registry connection. You can also choose a local signed `.ember-applet` file from Library.
